Rob Symington
Rob has spent over 30 years as a principal investor, most recently as Senior Advisor and Senior Portfolio Manager for the Avenue Capital U.S. funds. During his career Rob has participated as an investor and active distressed manager in a number of major restructurings including American Airlines, United Airlines, USAirways, Delta Airlines, General Motors, GMAC, CIT and Trump Casinos. Rob is also a member of the faculty at Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Business having joined as a Visiting Senior Lecturer of Finance in 2015.
Education
Rob received his B.A. in English Literature from Dickinson College and his M.B.A. from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management. Rob has served on both for profit and not-for-profit boards and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees at Dickinson College and a Board member of CycloPure, Inc.
